CARES Act provision highlights

Stimulus payments:

  • Direct payments to taxpayers equal to $1,200 per individual ($2,400 joint return)
  • plus $500 per child.
  • Phased out for incomes above $75,000 ($150,000 joint).
  • Treasury expects to begin dispersing funds by the third full week of April.

Unemployment benefits:

  • Extend unemployment insurance by 13 weeks and include a four-month enhancement of benefits
  • Unemployment compensation is available for those not eligible for regular UI, including those who may have exhausted benefits.
  • an additional $600 per worker per week unemployment compensation payment is available.

Filing an unemployment claim:

Missouri Career Center

Job Center staff will be available to assist customers, including those laid off due to the COVID-19 situation, by telephone. Services can be accessed by calling 1-888-728-JOBS (5627) or online at jobs.mo.gov.

Individual Insurance Option

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, unfortunately, many people are being laid off from their jobs and are losing group health coverage. Connell Insurance is offering the option to call their partner Broker Source, to enroll in individual health insurance or a short-term medical plan within 60 days of losing coverage.  Their individual enrollment center can be reached by calling 913-333-3380.  Please let the enrollment reps know you were referred by Connell Insurance, Inc.  Click here to download an information sheet.

Health Care Option
